  • The acres are a wonderful place to work. Jeremy Littlejohn, the current artistic director has a singular talent for selecting people that will get along and that are drama-free. The cast housing is in converted farmhouses, they are well loved but are kept in good shape and are very homey. I had a single room with my own bathroom during my stay, but that is not always the case. There are free laundry facilities for the cast's use that are shared with the show laundry, so the planning of that could get tricky with a large cast. Meals are not free, but you are welcome to eat Thresher's Dinner for a $2.50 paycheck deduction anytime the restaurant is open. Yes, it is in the middle of farm country, the closest major nightlife activities are about 40 minutes away in South Bend and they do not provide a car. So you are reliant on housemates for a ride to the grocery store (2 miles away). I could go on and on, my experience here could not have been more positive.
