  • I had an amazing time here, but that was also because I had my own car, which is essential in this town, a very sleepy summer beach town. Not much nightlife, other than the usually-hopping gay bar out on Blue Star Highway. The town is gorgeous and artsy. It's right on Lake Michigan, so once I was done with rehearsals, I was at the beach nearly every day. My housing was fantastic, but I've heard this can be a bit of a "luck of the draw," since they house you in donated cottages or houses or apartments. One girl had a rough time with her housing (which she shared with three other women, and was moved into a great apartment. Just have your agent get as much info as they can on the housing. Company management was "in transition" while I was there, meaning that they didn't really have someone in place solely dedicated to CM, so getting certain things done would sometimes take longer than I would have liked. But everyone is super-nice and appreciative of the actors. It's a great "working vacation" kind of summer job. I would go back as often as possible.
